Rae Spoon [Book Release], Kris Demeanor, Doug Hoyer and Joe Gurba!

This Friday we have a very special show at the Elevation Room. Rae Spoon will be gracing our venue with the release of the new book, First Spring Grass Fire, a collection of short fiction pieces heavily inspired by the Canadian prairies.  Joining Rae is Kris Demeanor, Calgary’s first poet laureate.  Kris has been singing and performing for many years, and has continued to grow as an artist an performer.  We also have Edmonton local Doug Hoyer opening; although he has been known for his theatrical song & dance sets, at the Elevation Room Doug will be focusing on songs and stories.  Kicking off the evening we have Joe Gurba, a highly esteemed poet and rapper (The Joe, Help), Joe brings a focus and attention to themes both broad and narrow in scope.
